The role holder will drive product market fit and growth agendas for India, one of Tala’s most exciting and valuable growth markets. As a member of the India team, you will be responsible for delivering the future of our end to end product experience in India, working in close collaboration with the local and global product, business, design, engineering and program teams to achieve exceptional business results while delivering in market on Tala’s vision of financial agency for all.

What You'll Do

    • Thought partner with the GM and other members of the India Leadership team and the global Expansion team to draft winning business strategies for the India market and align global stakeholders and guild leaders
    • Develop and optimize the product strategy and product roadmap for India in collaboration with the GM and the global expansion team
    • Develop a deep understanding of fintech regulations in India and craft regtech strategies in partnership with legal and compliance teams to help Tala establish a competitive moat.
    • Influence the data strategy for India as it pertains to compliance and as a competitive advantage for Tala’s core product portfolio
    • Cultivate a deep understanding of Tala’s audience, opportunity, and competitive landscape in India
    • Launch and deliver PMF for Tala products in India by constantly iterating and personalizing products as per the diversity that exists in the market 
    • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights coupled with a deep understanding of both consumer behavior and the local financial services ecosystem to drive outsized impact and ROI 
    • Deliver clear and compelling product specs, partnering closely with engineering to ensure excellent development execution
    • Launch new products and features, decide success metrics, test their performance, and iterate constantly to deliver business impact and time-bound results
    • Track overall product performance metrics and effectively solve for product and user issues that arise along with the engineering team

What You'll Need

    • 8+ years experience in Product Management roles with track record of success in finance, consumer mobile apps or related industries
    • Deep understanding of the India FinTech space and consumer mobile ecosystem
    • Demonstrated ability to ship and iterate consumer facing software products and deliver meaningful business results, especially in the fintech space
    • Experience of building and growing 0 to 1 products across a wide range of customer segments (including at least one major fintech product)
    • Proven track record of identifying customer problem statements and delivering products that solve for those problem statements successfully
    • Experience of conducting vendor due diligence, integrating 3rd party API’s, and customizing implementation
    • Ability to create hypotheses, set up experiments, query data, and analyze product performance and success in order to derive actionable insights
    • Capable consumer of modern analytics tools with strong data fluency
    • Strong understanding of modern development practices and planning processes
    • Comfort working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with distributed teams
    • Strong leadership presence with ability to vision set and manage through influence
