We are looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to join our Strategic Finance team at Tala! This person will quickly develop a deep understanding of the business and is adept at using data to drive insightful decision-making across the organization. In this role you will drive and own business analysis and modelling initiatives that will play a key role in global corporate planning.
What You'll Do
- You not only build complex financial and/or operating models, but you’re able to distill key learnings and translate numbers into compelling and clear narratives
- You enjoy collecting and deciphering complex data, and are a highly innovative problem-solver
- You approach a problem from different perspectives and use your holistic understanding of the business to see new opportunities/risks
- A collaborative self-starter. You’re excited to pursue new initiatives and love to partner with cross-functional leads to move the business forward
- Passionate about social enterprise and find meaning in working to make the world a better place
- Serve as a proactive business partner across all markets and business functions (e.g., Growth, Product, Credit, Operations etc.)
- Dig deep and analyze complex business problems that will aid in driving strategic business decisions
- Build, update and monitor dashboards for different parts of the business and report insights from your analysis
- Monitor and analyze key drivers of the business (e.g. growth, repayment, conversion, CAC, cohort performance, unit economics/lifetime value of customer), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive actionable insights
- You will turn these insights into digestible and actionable material for the rest of the team
- Investigate anomalies or unexpected business, operational and financial outcomes with a mindset to solve these issues
What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or another quantitative field
- 4+ years of relevant experience in analytical roles - such as, strategy and operations, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, and/or management consulting. Bonus points for experience at a high-growth tech startup!
- Excellent to Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or GSheets. Bonus points for completing a financial modeling course
- Excellent in SQL and/or data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Amplitude, Tableau), you will be sourcing data for operational and financial models
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence in an unstructured, cross-functional environment
