Drive the growth of a VC-backed, AI-powered, data and analytics startup, disrupting the archaic commodities market
By sourcing a pipeline of excellent candidates; managing the pipeline, and interviewing candidates, help to massively scale our team
London, competitive salary, recruitment commission, and equity

Tallarium is a rapidly-growing London-based capital markets/data start-up developing an AI-powered system for institutional energy trading. Currently, the bulk of the large-scale B2B derivative trading is done via 20-year-old systems like messenger chat, telephone, and Excel spreadsheets where data is siloed across teams and functions. We build data and trading infrastructure for derivative trade execution and risk management, allowing for faster, and far more accurate critical trading decisions. Working with us, you can be a part of disrupting and modernising global commodity trading.

We already provide services for trading desks at multiple Fortune 500 companies and have been working with the Super-Majors from our early days. We have backing from VC investors and a major strategic industry player, and our revenue has significantly increased in the past year. Thanks to that growth we are transitioning to the next phase of scaling the team and looking for exceptional people to join the company

Currently, we are a team of ±15 with strong academic backgrounds and experience at the world’s top institutions, but one of our key priorities as a business is to continue to expand: supporting the growth of our product and our revenue with a top-quality team of excellent people. To help us scale, we are looking for a Recruitment Officer, who can lead our talent acquisition, recruitment operations, candidate management, and initial interviews. This role will be instrumental in the next stages of our development and will be a great opportunity for a proactive, ambitious individual, who wants to develop quickly in a fast-moving, exciting environment

Your Impact:

    • Developing a great understanding of our company, our industry, what we do, and our working culture - then using that to summarise and sell Tallarium to prospects;
    • With the help of the rest of the team, draft job descriptions, critical competencies, and job postings to help us find the best people;
    • Using social media and job boards to advertise positions, attract candidates and build relationships;
    • Headhunt and source great candidates - identifying and nurturing individuals with a targetted, organised approach;
    • Using our candidate database to find potential missed-gems who would be perfect for new roles;
    • Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and tests and making sure that our recruitment process gets great candidate feedback;
    • Conducting first interviews to weed out red-flag candidates;
    • Managing our communications with candidates and recruiters, informing candidates about the results of interviews, keeping them engaged, and managing the recruitment pipeline;
    • Requesting references and interviewing referees;
    • Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job;
    • Using data and analytics to spot issues and opportunities in our current pipeline and process and working with the Director of Operations to ensure that our recruitment process generates the very best candidates;
    • Working towards and exceeding recruitment targets with the support of the rest of the company;

About You:

    • 1-2 years of professional experience in a recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR role (where you have experience of working on recruitment/interviewing/writing job descriptions);
    • 2.i or higher degree from a top 20 UK university (or equivalent);
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both spoken and written);
    • A goal-orientated approach to work and the persistence to keep pushing to get the best possible candidates;
    • The ability to handle multiple priorities across a range of roles;
    • Confidence to interview senior candidates, and the self-motivation to deliver in a small team;
    • Great time management and organisational skills - ensuring that our candidate pipeline data is accurate and useful;
    • Creativity and problem solving skills to find creative ways to find and test the best candidates;

The Opportunity:

    • Work in an exciting, fast-paced startup environment where you can personally influence the course of the company;
    • Huge potential for career growth in the role, joining at an early stage and being the first person in the Recruitment Team;
If helping us grow excites you, recruiting a team that will help disrupt one of the largest trading markets in the world, then we want to hear from you!
