We are currently building large scale prototypes and flying subscale prototypes and look forward to tackling the hard challenge of making mid-air separation and docking of aircraft a reliable reality by building a team of dedicated experts to help enable its success across multiple market segments.

We are looking to hire a Airframe Engineer Intern that will be focused on subscale and large scale prototype design, build and test. This role will be at our headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

    • Support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of Talyn’s subscale and next generation aircraft.
    • Responsibility over the configuration design, structural performance and qualification, manufacturing methodologies, and subsystem interfaces
    • Responsibility over the ultimate build implementation of the structural design and flight performance
    • As Talyn is a startup, you will be expected to wear many hats, get your hands dirty with the hardware, and make critical design and business decisions.

Basic Qualifications

    • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering field
    • Self-starter with high accountability suited to work in a dynamic startup atmosphere
    • Ability to quickly learn new skills as required to solve problems
    • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues and risks to a broad audience
    • Ability to foster and maintain a positive and enjoyable working environment for themselves and the team
    • Ability to perform manufacturing operations when required
    • Must be willing to work part time on-site with the team in Los Angeles, CA

Preferred Experience

    • Demonstrated experience with composites design and analysis with hand calculations as well as FEM
    • Proficiency with CAD modeling
    • Demonstrated experience with the design and successful build of a complex vehicle assembly
    • Familiarity with conceptual aircraft performance and design
