Job Overview
The Recovery Coach provides life skills development activities and client support to adults with serious mental illness. The Recovery Coach is supervised by the AWS Director or designee, with clinical supervision and training additionally provided by the Clinical Supervisor/Director.

Responsibilities and Duties
Forms a helping partnership with clients, families, and collateral practitioners including educational professionals to accomplish service plan goals and objectives.
Links clients/families to appropriate services offered by TeamBuilders or collateral service providers and monitoring of such services.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing life skills and psychosocial skills training activities in accordance with the Plan of Care, and providing close supervision and support to clients.
Provides basic living or life skills activities that are individualized to each client's needs in the client's home, community, or designated facility.
Supports clients during life skills activities to include transportation to scheduled activities, participation in therapeutic socialization activities, and therapeutic behavior management during the life skills sessions.
Engages client in individual empowerment activities that address choice, self-advocacy, self-management, and community integration.
Conducts person-centered intakes, screenings, and assessments.
Develops person-centered plans of care in collaboration with the care team.

Minimum Pre-Employment Requirements and Qualifications
Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural Spanish and English, preferred;
HSD/GED + 3yrs experience; or, Associates in human services related field + 2yrs experience; or, Bachelors in human services related field + 1yr experience; or Masters in human services related field + 1yr experience;
Prior experience must include working with adults with serious mental illness (SMI) and/or co-occurring disorders (COD);
Certificate of Completion of Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) training or Provisional approved by the State of New Mexico;
Criminal Records Clearance (FBI, state/local) by the Department of Health (DOH) and Children, Youth & Families (CYFD) including state/county/local arrest record background check;
Adult, Child and Infant CPR and First Aid Certification;
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification;
Clean driving record; and,
Current auto insurance coverage.
