MGR Accounting Recruiters, a Teamshares Network company, is searching for a Sr. Accountant for a client in San Antonio.


SCOPE OF POSITION: The Senior Accountant must be self-motivated, action-oriented, and drive efficiencies by managing the day-to-day accounting function, month-end close, and treasury function. The Senior Accountant is a member of the finance team reporting to the Vice President of Finance.

Responsibilities

    • Lead the organization's day to day accounting functions
    • Experience with cost and inventory accounting
    • Strong background in GL accounting with experience in full cycle AP and AR duties
    • Perform remote and on site bank deposits and ensure bank is reconciled daily
    • Send out customer invoices for collections
    • Create and maintain vendor and customer records in ERP system
    • Prepare and post weekly payroll entries
    • Assist with AP, AR, Sales Orders, and Receipt of Goods processing
    • Prepare and post credit card entries as well as post employee expense reports
    • Weekly cash forecasting, actual reporting, variance analysis and prepare weekly check run
    • Perform month-end close in five (5) days or less including reconciling and closing modules in ERP system
    • Update & maintain written closing procedures with specific time targets for each component
    • Responsible for organizing and supervising each monthly closing process
    • Responsible for integrity of financial systems and processes including account reconciliations
    • In conjunction with VP-Finance develop Board book contents
    • Assist in preparations of financial reports and present findings to management
    • Coordinate audits and special projects for management
    • Assist VP-Finance in preparing sales and margin reporting
    • Assist VP-Finance in preparing weekly P&L reporting
    • Ensure that all monthly closing processes and procedures are documented and available as a guide to all accounting personnel
    • Establish and maintain the company's accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and the integrity of general ledger
    • Generate ad-hoc information to support the analysis of business performance

Qualifications

    • Experience in manufacturing preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, pivot tables) and proficient with other software applications (Work, PowerPoint)
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • ERP knowledge (SAP, AS400 or SAGE)
    • Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
    • CPA/CMA preferred
    • Bilingual Spanish /English a plus
