Position: Sales (Construction)
We are looking for an experienced sales professional who is energized to contribute to our growth initiatives. This position requires residential construction experience and skillset to execute inbound and outbound sales opportunities. These include sales appointment visits to scope out jobs, draft detailed proposals, drive value-add follow-ups to increase conversions and also execute outbound strategies to build relationships and win jobs.


Key Responsibilities:

    • Inbound Lead Handling & Estimating
    • Prioritize customer experience via timely visits, thorough communication and expectation setting, customer education and solution-oriented presenting alternative solutions when needed
    • Visit residential and light commercial job sites to assess scope, measurements, and site conditions
    • Prepare and send timely, accurate proposals using Buildertrend or equivalent platforms
    • Clearly communicate project timelines, pricing, scope, and material options
    • Answer questions and act as the primary point of contact for the customer pre-sale
    • Process permits and other regulatory requirements as needed for jobs
    • Proposal Follow-Up & Conversion
    • Manage a structured follow-up cadence (calls, texts, emails) for proposals sent
    • Address common objections (budget, timing, competitive quotes)
    • Collaborate with operations team to offer adjusted timelines or incentives if needed
    • Maintain proposal pipeline visibility in CRM or Buildertrend
    • Outbound Sales & Relationship Building
    • Identify and pursue partnerships with:
    • General contractors, designers, property managers, HOA boards, etc
    • Develop a repeatable outbound cadence (intro calls, meetings, drip follow-ups)
    • Attend industry events, network locally, and represent Gardner Construction professionally
    • Help create company awareness and strengthen our referral network

Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of sales experience in residential or commercial construction
    • Experience with cold calling and prospecting
    • Proven ability to estimate project costs (concrete, foundation, waterproofing preferred)
    • Preferred proficiency in using Buildertrend and Salesforce CRM
    • Organized, self-motivated, and thrives on hitting goals
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Valid driver's license; ability to travel locally to job sites
    • Bonus Points For:
