The Role 
We are looking for an amazing People and Office Manager to organise and coordinate admin duties and office procedures. This dual role will report into the People Lead and lend support to the various people activities at Tech Nation. Your role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness, communication and safety.

A Day in the Life of a Tech Nation People + Office Manager might look something like this:


    • The office management side of the role
      Serve as the point person for office manager duties including:
    • Maintenance
    • Mailing
    • Supplies
    • Equipment
    • Bills
    • Errands
    • Shopping
    • Schedule meetings and appointments
    • Organise the office layout and order stationery and equipment
    • Maintain the office condition and arrange necessary repairs
    • Organise office operations and procedures
    • Manage contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers and office lease
    • Manage office G&A budget, ensure accurate and timely reporting
    • Provide general support to visitors
    • Address employees queries regarding office management issues (e.g. stationery, Hardware and travel arrangements)
    • Liaise with facility management vendors, including cleaning, catering and security services
    • Work closely with the Manchester team as well remote workers to ensure they have all they need. 


    • The People side of the role
      Support the People Lead to plan in-house or off-site activities, like parties, celebrations and conferences
    • Own the on-boarding process for new hires
    • Organise and maintain personnel records
    • Update our HR system where needed 
    • Participate and support with HR projects 

As well as sharing our ambitions and values, you will

    • Proven work experience as an office manager
    • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures
    • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organisational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
    • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
    • Experience of working closely with the HR team
