Founded in 2009, our team of 25+ people are mostly designers, developers and product managers, and includes successful US entrepreneurs. Slate Studio is not like typical outsource companies - we are a remote team of very senior people that specializes in crafting beautiful, scalable, multi-platform products for the world’s largest technology and media companies.

On behalf of Slate Studio, TTL is looking for a SENIOR FRONTEND WEB ENGINEER to join a senior team to develop several recently funded next-generation products. You will own the frontend logic in JavaScript and look/feel in HTML and CSS to ensure high performance and responsiveness of web applications. You will work with real-time data streams to display information and controls connected to "internet of things" devices and backend services.

In this role, you will

    • Work with a distributed team of 3-5 people to build solutions and solve complex technical challenges
    • Take responsibility for all web-related frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
    • Develop efficient, responsive, and pixel perfect implementations of web interfaces utilizing JavaScript and React.js.
    • Ensure uniform behavior and presentation between web and mobile platforms.
    • Create frontend applications that consume APIs
    • Implement security and data protection
    • Write tests daily (both unit and integration tests)
    • Enforce best practices for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including code quality and automatization
    • Regularly communicate with engineering leads on project and delivery status

What we value

    • 5+ years developing large scale, highly available web applications and services for web and mobile
    • Direct experience with React.js
    • Caring for both the logic (JS) and design (HTML/CSS)
    • JavaScript MVC frameworks, preprocesses (less, sass) and workflows (Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, Bower, etc)
    • Experience building products with component-based architectures
    • Daily unit tests, integration tests, TDD, and CI/CD
    • Modern browser features (Local Storage, CORS, etc)
    • Creating apps that are consumers of RESTful web services
    • Manipulating HTML parsing and rendering to create beautiful responsive interfaces
    • Optimization between delivery platforms (mobile vs desktop)
    • Code-versioning tools (Git)
    • Distributed team across multiple time zones
    • Excellent communication in written and spoken English (we speak English every day)
