As the Director of Solutions Engineering, you will play a key role in driving customer goals by providing technical solutions to challenges.
You will navigate our largest, most complex, and challenging deals, enhance company outreach, and bolster our brand.
The Teleport Solutions team critically shapes our strategy, ensuring technical success throughout all stages of the customer journey.
You will build and lead a technically proficient team of solutions engineers to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
We seek pragmatic, highly technical leaders excited about tackling tough technical challenges. You should be ready to travel to customer sites, eager to engage directly with problems, and capable of building solutions using Golang, Kubernetes, and other CNCF technologies.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and manage a team of Solutions Engineers.
- Train, coach, mentor, and guide your team toward successful performance, career progression, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with engineering teams from some of the world's most sophisticated technology companies.
- Assist companies in enhancing their security, compliance, and development experience.
- Drive technical wins to accelerate the sales cycle.
- Visit our largest customers on-site to demonstrate new features and construct solutions.
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated ability to lead a customer-facing team, including strong skills in people management, mentoring, coaching, and development.
- Proven experience managing customer outcomes through various stages of the customer journey, from sales process to onboarding, adoption, and growth.
- Strong understanding of Linux networking and network security.
- Exceptional practical knowledge of modern CNCF and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
- Successful track record of navigating complex deployments at innovative companies.
- Solid programming skills in Python or Golang, required for interfacing with the Teleport Engineering team.
- Hands-on experience with one of the major public cloud providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exceptional skills in server-side software troubleshooting, testing, and debugging.
$247,000 - $400,000 a year
The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is $247,000 - $400,000 for a level 5 and level 6, which consists of a Base Salary plus a Target Commission. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
