We are looking for a motivated Co-op student to join our Business Applications team. This position will focus on both development and support tasks related to the System Integration Layer and various Enterprise Applications. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced systems analysts, application developers and integration specialists.  This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience with the full application lifecycle in a dynamic, multidisciplinary development and support environment.

Main Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in Agile Scrum activities throughout the development cycle
    • Contribute to tasks identified during sprint planning sessions
    • Develop software in line with established company coding standards and best practices
    • Conduct thorough unit testing to validate that all requirements are met, core functionality operates as expected, and errors are properly managed
    • Provide regular progress updates to the Manager, including status of ongoing work, completed tasks, upcoming deliverables, and any issues that may impact timelines or quality
    • Fulfill project responsibilities such as design, development, unit testing, and documentation within the required timeframes and quality standards
    • Collect and document all relevant information prior to escalation to allow senior staff to operate efficiently
    • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution

Education and Experience Required

    • Program: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related.
    • Coursework: Programming, Database, Cloud Computing (Azure preferred)
    • Core Technical Skills: Python, APIs, SQL, JavaScript /C#
    • Bonus Skills: Azure API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, Postgres, CI/CD
    • Problem Solving: Analytical thinker, comfortable debugging pipelines and queries
    • Communication: Able to explain technical steps clearly; summarize findings in dashboards
    • Collaboration: Works well in agile / DevOps team settings; uses Git / Jira effectively
    • Learning Agility: Curious, willing to explore new Azure and Integration tools quickly
    • Documentation: Writes clean, maintainable code and documents pipeline logic

Decision Making and Supervision

    • Work under minimal supervision.
    • Make decisions and recommendations requiring analysis and interpretation within established procedures.

Working Conditions

    • Generally comfortable working conditions with lifting and onsite installations.
    • Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
