Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Networks Support, the Systems Analyst provides the technical expertise required for the implementation and support of IT operations and corporate infrastructure. The incumbent’s primary focus is to implement, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance corporate computer systems and related security solutions which are integral to the day-to-day operation of the company. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain core IT infrastructure and systems.
- Design, plan and implement IT infrastructure and systems.
- Windows Server administration including Active Directory, File Services, PowerShell, Group Policy Objects.
- Virtual Machine (VM) system management.
- Storage administration and backup system management.
- Patch management, systems updates.
- Identity Management and multifactor authentication.
- Microsoft 365 platform management including Azure AD, Exchange online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and M365 groups.
- Configure and develop cloud computing solutions.
- Implement and manage critical desktop security solutions.
- Implement and maintain endpoint anti-virus & anti-malware solutions.
- Coordinate systems upgrades and configuration changes.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system and network problems.
- Plan and coordinate assigned projects.
- As a tier 3 support resource, identify troubleshoot and mitigate hardware and software problems identified by the corporate Helpdesk.
- Management of incidents and user requests.
- Plan, monitor and prepare reports on key systems.
- Perform hardware & software audits.
- Product research and evaluation.
- Day to day operational support.
Education & Experience Required
- A Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science together with demonstrated operational network related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in Information Technology (with a related University Degree)
- or minimum of eight years in Information Technology (with a three-year College Diploma).
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Azure platform administration.
- Microsoft 365 administration.
- Working technical knowledge of network, PC, Server and platform operating systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols and standards including Active Directory.
- Identity management using Microsoft Identity Manager and AzureAD Connect.
- Strong knowledge of virtual machines (VMWare), cloud networking, compute, storage and network components.
- Solid understanding of the Windows and Linux based server environments.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products and workstation configuration.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Decision Making & Supervision
- Make decisions and recommendations within established procedures, based on troubleshooting and analysis.
- Plan and design system upgrades.
- Coordination with helpdesk, network/telecom, platform, and security teams.
- Work under minimum supervision.
Working Conditions
- Generally comfortable office working environment.
- Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal.
- Appropriate security clearances required.
- Occasional off hour support may be required.
- Participation in group on-call rotation.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearances under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP) and Canadian Secret level.
