Senior Software Engineer - Blockchain Protocol (Remote)

How we work:

Our teams leverage agile methodologies to move quickly and stay focused. Most of us work out of our offices in San Francisco, Berkeley, Toronto, and Berlin, but some of our employees work remotely. Communication is important to us and we rely heavily on Slack, Zoom, and GitHub to help us stay in sync. Everything we build is open source and available on GitHub.

This is a full time position that is remote-friendly, but, due to the current geography of the team, limited to timezones between PST (GMT -8) and MSK (GMT+3).

What you will be doing:

    • Improve the SDK codebase by committing dry, well tested code
    • Work with the SDK team to triage tickets and move the project forward
    • Optimize the SDK to make development on platform best-in-class
    • Research, design, and implement improvements to the Cosmos SDK
    • Review pull requests and provide valuable feedback to members of the team and open source contributors

We're looking for someone who has:

    • At least 4 years of software engineering experience with open source contributions
    • Experience developing, releasing, and maintaining production software
    • Significant experience writing Golang or the ability and desire to become proficient in new languages
    • A strong grasp of computer science fundamentals
    • Experience working in an agile development environment
    • The ability to take ownership and see initiatives through
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Experience working with distributed teams

Nice to have:

    • Knowledge of fault tolerant consensus protocols like PBFT or Raft
    • Experience with IBC
    • Familiarity with open source P2P networking protocols like BitTorrent, Kademlia, etc
