Our next full-time Lab Technician will be a key player in production and will assist in the execution for the extraction, refinement, and analysis of medical cannabis oil and associated product formulations. The individual will use both manual and automated means to produce production blends, distillates, and materials. Thus, this position does require comfort working with machines and equipment to perform day to day operations.
 
To Be Blunt
You will be challenged to work tactically to ensure complete and on time execution of production schedules.
One minute you will be preparing for the day and ensuring area is ready to begin production.
The next minute you will be assisting and working cross-functionally and cross-departmentally.
And the next minute filling out and reviewing daily laboratory paperwork.
Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work within a diverse team in the organization.
 
Where you’ll be planted
This position will be on-site in our Hagerstown, MD facility.

To be blunt, this role will be about:

    • Perform oil extractions as schedule by the department Manager 
    • Operate extraction and refinement equipment  
    • Troubleshoot extraction and refinement equipment based on machine specifications  
    • Apply best practices and standard operating procedures as established by the organization  
    • Execute daily duties related to manufacturing as schedule by the Manager of Processing /Production 
    • Daily cleaning of product equipment and work areas 
    • Fill out and review daily laboratory paperwork while correcting/reporting errors in a timely manner 
    • Record and maintain medical cannabis processing in the METRC seed-to-sale system 
    • Implement and comply with safety procedures 
    • Assist and work cross-functionally and cross-departmentally with our post-harvest teams 
    • Perform other related work as required. 

What we're high on...We value diverse skillsets, talents, and experiences. To be successful in this role we know you’ll need:

    • 2-3 years of experience and familiarity with cannabis oil extraction techniques is preferred. 
    • Able to perform and operate lab equipment - pipetting, centrifuges, vortexes, analytical balances. 
    • Stay current and adhere to regulations of the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) 
    • Show accountability, proactive behavior, and a strong attention to detail 
    • Basic knowledge and familiarity with Cannabis Extraction techniques 
    • Familiarity with production and warehouse procedures 
    • Excellent computer, mathematic, language, and reasoning skills 
    • Be 21 years of age; able to pass a background check; not have been convicted of any felony offense. 
    • High School Diploma or equivalent 
    • High level of integrity.
    • Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
