While individual consumer choices are important, over 80% of all the emissions reductions necessary for the world to reach Net-Zero, require business-level action. But despite the growing momentum and ambition from companies around the world to set Net-Zero goals, there are significant challenges to delivering on these ambitions. Business leaders don’t really know how they will get there. And the very first step, of getting emissions measurement right, is hard.
Terrascope is an enterprise-grade, end-to-end decarbonisation SaaS platform. By combining AI-assisted carbon measurement & management with deep industry & sustainability expertise, Terrascope helps solve the data management, emissions reduction planning and implementation challenges that large enterprises face to decarbonise their operations and complex supply chains.

We are seeking a Climate Data Science Intern to support the Data Science team on our product lines. This role reports to our Lead Data Scientist and is a fantastic opportunity for undergraduates to gain exposure to building cutting-edge data products leveraging machine learning and Generative-AI in a commercial setting, across all stages from experimentation to productization.
In this role you will:
- Experiment and prototype end-to-end solutions, leveraging data-analytics, large language models, machine learning and software engineering to address critical challenges for our product lines to enhance user adoption and user experience
- Collaborate with sustainability experts and build software that encodes domain knowledge for scale
- Perform data analysis to find insights that can be used for preprocessing data, and enhancing our machine learning models and overall inference pipelines
- Gain exposure on carbon emission measurement and reduction, and apply them to improve our range of product lines
You should:
- * Be an undergraduate in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative field or equivalent. Exposure to sustainability is a plus
- Have proficiency in Python programming with experience in common libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Huggingface and Langchain.
- Have a keen interest and ability to solve business problems through data analytics, data wrangling, LLMs and classical machine learning. Exposure to NLP techniques is a plus
- Have a keen interest to learn more about climate change, sustainability, decarbonization
- Have experience with code versioning tools like Git; knowledge of MLOps tools and frameworks (Docker, K8s, MLFlow etc.) is a plus
- Possess an excellent sense of ethics and integrity, with the ability to impress on others to “do the right thing.”
- Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial awareness
- Be hard-working, proactive, and motivated individual who can manage multiple stakeholders and projects
