Looking for a summer job that’s fun, by the waterfront and gets you access to one of Toronto’s most iconic events? Come join our team at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)!
The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America. With something for everyone, our event offers a wide variety of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!
The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Be a part of this summer tradition and help us inspire Canadians and create memories.
Program Schedule:
July 22: Set-up day
July 23 to August 1: CNE Farm: Agriculture Adventure
August 3 to August 14: CNE HorseCapades
August 15 to September 1: CNE AgVenture
Responsibilities
- Set up and tear down activity stations
- Demonstrate program activities to guests
- Encourage guests to interact with the activities
- Supervise activities
- Check activity supplies to ensure adequate availability/quantity and restock when necessary
- Ensure that program areas are properly maintained and presentable at all times
- Answer basic questions from the general public regarding programming, attractions, facilities and services
Skills and Attributes
- Friendly disposition
- Responsible and reliable (young kids in your care)
- Ability to communicate with a variety of age levels
- Patient
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Advanced customer service skills
- Mature problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Special Conditions
- Ability to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Located in a busy area
- Must be comfortable working in the presences of animals and barnyard smells
- Ability to engage positively with children and their caregivers
- Required to dress in appropriate uniform
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Age Requirement: 14 years
- G2 class license is an asset (for one specific station during AgVenture)
- Experience working with young children in a group setting is preferred
- Available to work the entire duration of the event except for scheduled days off
- Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
- Available to attend mandatory orientation session
