The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America. The CNE is a vibrant and dynamic music stage known for hosting exceptional live performances. We're passionate about creating memorable experiences for both artists and audiences alike. We're seeking a dedicated Stage Manager to join our team and ensure smooth operations during our event.  
 
Reporting to the Entertainment Manager, the Midway Stage Managers primary focus will be ensuring production at the Midway stage runs smoothly.  

Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with the Entertainment Manager, performers, and technical staff to ensure seamless execution of performances.
    • Oversee general load-in/load-out of the stage. This includes collaborating with Union labour to arrange equipment and instruments. 
    • Facilitate band sound checks, ensuring all technical aspects are addressed and performers are comfortable with the stage setup. 
    • Coordinate the activities of stage crew members, including union labour & runners, to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
    • In collaboration with union labour, provide technical support to performers, troubleshooting any issues that may arise. 
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all stage-related inquiries and issues, maintaining clear and open communication with all stakeholders. 
    • Manage the schedule and timing of performances and transitions, to ensure sets run smoothly and on time.  

Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Stage Manager, or similar role in the music or entertainment industry. 
    • Knowledge of stage setup, equipment, and technical requirements for live performances. 
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities. 
    • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, with a problem-solving attitude.  
    • Knowledge of Union rules and regulations a plus.  
    • Full G License with a clean driving record
    • Ability to work all 18 day of the CNE as well as helping during move-in and move-out (August 15th -September 1st, 2025)
    • Able to attend a mandatory HR and Job Specific Orientation

Special Conditions

    • Ability to stand or be stationary for extended periods of time
    • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)
    • Must be able to lift and carry equipment
    • Required to dress in appropriate uniform
