The Free Press is launching new video podcast shows to serve our subscribers. We are looking for a news junkie with a sense of humor to produce these daily and weekly products. This is not a remote position, and would require working from our New York office.
This position could be contract, part-time or full-time.
Requirements
- At least five years working as an audio/video producer in a news environment
- A background that demonstrates you have worked on tight deadlines and can create content that is both excellent and fast
- Examples of your work that shows confident editorial judgment, booking prowess, and the ability to write tight, sensemaking copy
- A passion for The Free Press: you’ve read our stories, you understand our mission, and you know how you can bring value to our team. Eagerness to work in a start-up environment. Our team is composed of people who are enthusiastic, nimble, and collaborative.
Bonus
- Basic experience using cameras and gear
- Experience editing video in Premiere
- Experience with live video production, gear, and software
- Experience recording tape, operating a remote studio, and cutting tape on DAWs (ProTools, Adobe etc) AND/OR experience managing production and post-production crews
