House Majority PAC is an organization designed to hold Republicans accountable and help elect more House Democrats. House Majority PAC is committed to building a long-term organization that can take on the Republican outside groups in the battle for the House Majority.

The Research Director will serve in a senior leadership role for the 2026 cycle and work closely with House Majority PAC’s Independent Expenditure (IE) leadership team to assess the committee’s research needs and execute a plan to fulfill them, primarily focusing on the execution of a nine-figure advertising program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assess, manage, and execute House Majority PAC’s research needs, from generation of original opposition research to backing up an extensive paid media campaign; review and approve research products to support House Majority PAC and House Majority Forward communications in districts, including television, digital, and mail advertising in partnership with senior staff and legal team
    • Manage a Deputy Research Director and multiple Regional Research Directors who help maintain self and opposition research, as well as volunteer vetting and other research needs
    • Work with political, comms, consultant, and legal teams to execute programming in a timely fashion
    • Work with allied organizations to ensure research needs are met across the House ecosystem for paid media programming
    • Oversee daily tracking of assigned races
    • Plan and oversee efforts to condense opposition research from various sources into effective products
    • Work with paid media and polling consultants to identify and deliver the most effective messaging across advertising programs 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated commitment to promoting Democratic values and causes
    • BA/BS degree and/or five or more years of experience in the research field
    • Experience with independent expenditure paid media ad backup is a must
    • Experience working on House campaigns or in the U.S. House of Representatives is strongly preferred
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities; ability to work independently and proactively
    • Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change; experience managing to multiple deadlines
    • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
    • Solid verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills
    • Sense of humor, ability to have fun, and an interest in working within a high-performing team environment

LOCATION:                  Washington, DC
SALARY:                      Starting at $140,000 annualized, commensurate with experience
