We are looking for a Manager, Audience Development and Growth to help build a new media property from launch to 5MM+ this year. Through social media messaging, search engine optimization, and content partnerships, you will develop and grow our traffic, keeping new readers engaged through newsletters and community engagement. You will work hand-in-hand with the Editorial team to turn Ladders into a can’t-miss destination for the latest news, opinion, and analysis defining the world of work.

Responsibilities of the Manager, Audience Development and Growth:

    • Work with Marketing, Creative, Product, and Editorial Teams to define target audiences and align editorial strategies, distribution channels, and consumer segments for optimal traffic generation
    • Work with Editorial in developing editorial calendar, and work with internal and external writers to maintain fresh and engaging stories and postings
    • Own, manage, and execute engagement and reporting across social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), email newsletters, and other distribution channels
    • Evangelize the Ladders brand and grow the number of influencers across new and existing social media channels
    • Identify syndication partners that can be leveraged to drive growth

Qualifications of Manager, Audience Development and Growth:

    • At least 3-4 years experience in social media management and audience development
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Experience in multiplatform content extensions and original content production
    • Knowledge of organic and paid social media promotion
    • Familiarity with digital analytics and tools such as Google Analytics,, and Facebook Insights
    • Understanding of editorial workflow and output
    • Active personal use of social networks
    • A deep and abiding love and understanding of internet memes
    • Experience managing content syndication networks, CMS systems, and email marketing
    • Experience in a startup digital newsroom environment preferred
