Who You Are

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR, or marketing. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in public relations (agency or corporate environment)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (knowledge of AP style) with a track record of securing positive coverage on behalf of client(s).
    • Must have strong media relationships, specifically within the consumer/retail/fashion, broadcast and business/tech sectors.
    • Ability to pitch media and strategically craft compelling messages for different audiences and channels.
    • Understanding of the leadership conference landscape.
    • Experience with working on PR strategy plans, events/openings, as well as day-to-day tasks.
    • Ability to think both creatively and strategically to secure meaningful coverage, anticipate communication challenges and develop proactive solutions.
    • Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet business objectives.
    •  Proficiency in media monitoring and database software.
    • Project and budget management skills.
    • Responds well under pressure with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; deadline-oriented and organized.
    • Quick, curious and enthusiastic learner, with great follow-up and a passion for story-telling.

What You'll Do

    • Develop PR strategies and campaigns for the company and its brand partners.
    • Write and prepare pitches, press releases, promotional material and other media communications to help promote Complex and its brand partners.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with consumer, business, and corporate media.
    • Respond to media requests for corporate/company information.
    • Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other PR events, including preparing spokespeople and managing logistics.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and executive leadership, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of PR efforts with overall business objectives.
    • Prepare and edit various company materials (i.e. employee newsletters, website copy, pitches & follow-ups, award submissions, and any other collateral deemed necessary for internal/external audiences).
    • Effectively communicate with leadership/managers to identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations on public relations/media decisions.
    • Monitor media coverage related to our organization, competitors, and industry trends, and develop responses or strategies as needed.

$65,000 - $75,000 a year
The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex's Total Rewards offerings for employees.
