The uMap/ IP Enforcement position will focus on protecting and enforcing intellectual property (IP) rights and uMAP such as identifying and enforcing infringements, monitoring IP portfolios, and collaborating with internal and external teams to address all related violations.
uMAP and Intellectual Property Compliance & Enforcement: Proactively monitor, review, and analyze online marketplaces for listings that violate Baja Designs' uMAP policy and IP Infringements. This includes close collaboration with authorized uMAP dealers and internal stakeholders to ensure adherence.
Marketplace Surveillance: Conduct comprehensive surveillance across online platforms, including but not limited to Amazon, Amazon Business Prime, Google Shopping, Jobber websites, eBay, Walmart, Facebook Groups/Forums, and Instagram, to identify and address non-compliant listings.
Violation Management & Escalation: Execute the departmental processes for uMAP enforcement, including detailed documentation of violations, communication with internal rep team and infringing parties/jobbers/accounts, and timely escalation of persistent issues. This involves constant and direct communication via phone calls, emails, messaging systems and other lines of communication.
Evidence Preparation: Prepare thorough documentation and evidence packages for legal actions, including cease-and-desist letters.
Enforcement Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and continuously refine IP and uMap enforcement strategies to protect Baja Designs' brand and proprietary assets effectively. Also includes validating new tools/platforms and refining internal best practices and processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams, including Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to support all related activities and ensure a cohesive approach to enforcement and brand protection.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze enforcement data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of strategies, and provide regular reports to leadership on marketplace compliance and infringement activities.
Policy Development Input: Provide valuable input for the ongoing refinement and development of Baja Designs' uMAP/IP policies and guidelines based on market observations and enforcement outcomes.
Training & Education: Educate internal teams and external partners on all related brand policies and the importance of protection to foster a culture of compliance.
