Sales Account Executive. This role will support The Recount’s efforts at bringing a unique and highly efficient proposition to marketing partners. They’ll report directly to our VP, Key Accounts. The Account Executive will find business opportunities, manage customer databases and relationships, and thrive in the unstructured world of a media startup. Integrity, attention to detail, ability to work remotely, a focus on customer service, and a passion for our mission are a must. Requires at least three years of digital media sales experience.

About Us: The Recount is a video-first media company covering politics, policy, and national affairs at a time when those stories have never been more riveting or consequential. In an age of information overload and relentless partisan polarization,The Recount is a new approach for this new era: one that helps its viewers get smart fast about what’s happening in politics right now, without wasting their time, insulting their intelligence, or burying them in bullshit or bad faith. We see our role as holding powerful interests to account and cutting through the noise to give viewers the facts — all in five minutes or less. And to have a whole lot of fun doing it.
Beginning in late Q3/Q4 The Recount will expand beyond politics to create new verticals leveraging the same “getting smarter, faster” format for other content categories and distribution platforms.


Responsibilities and Requirements

    • Unearth new sales opportunities 
    • Create and execute detailed plans to facilitate the attainment of goals 
    • Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal
    • Present opportunities to prospective clients
    • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the customers’ dedication
    • Respond to complaints and resolve issues aiming to customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation
    • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data

What You Need

    • Proven experience as an Account Executive, or in other sales/customer service role
    • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principlesKnowledge of
    • Social Media Platforms and how their sales processes work
    • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
    • Organizational and time-management skills
    • Business acumen
    • Enthusiastic, optimistic and passionate
    • BS or BA
