The Rounds is the portal for managing everything that comes in/out of your home, i.e. your AI-powered personal Psychic Home Manager. The Rounds automates the "inventory management" of the stuff you use every day, starting with weekly delivery and refill of essential consumer goods via our own scheduled two-way last mile logistics network. We’re looking for an experienced Head of Data and Machine Learning / Head of Prediction to grow and lead our data and AI organization. This leadership role will own analytics, data science, machine learning, and data/analytics engineering and will report directly to the Chief Product Officer. You'll be responsible for driving our data strategy and be hands-on in the early days as you build out the team and personally implement key solutions. What You'll Do:
- Grow and manage the data and AI team across analytics, data science, machine learning, and data/analytics engineering.
- Be hands-on with machine learning and data science, personally implementing key features and solutions.
- Own the roadmap for all data initiatives, working closely with Product and Engineering teams to drive impactful projects.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and data solutions to improve personalization, forecasting, and operational efficiency, particularly anchored on leveraging the unique data we’ve been collecting for years to improve prediction.
- Hire, mentor, and manage a team of diverse data professionals, including data scientists, ML engineers, and data analysts. We believe smaller, higher-caliber teams that are empowered beat big, slow, bureaucratic teams every time.
What You Have:
- 6+ years of experience working across machine learning, data science, and analytics, with a strong preference for machine learning expertise.
- 2+ years of experience managing teams of data practitioners, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact AI solutions.
- Solid experience in data infrastructure and analytics engineering to support scalable and reliable data systems.
- Hands-on experience deploying / productionizing AI systems using frameworks like Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- A background in product engineering or experience collaborating closely with product engineering teams.
Nice To Have:
- Experience working with AI in logistics, operations, or e-commerce industries.
- A passion for building systems that minimize packaging / food waste and maximize efficiency.

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans across multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $230,000 - $300,000 plus benefits & equity.
