Role: Vice President of Major Gifts 

Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Summary: 

The VP of Major Gifts plays a pivotal role in steering the fundraising efforts of our organization, focusing on developing strategic plans to secure major donations. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, (Including a portfolio of their own) ensuring the sustainability and growth of our fundraising initiatives. The role involves leading a team of fundraising professionals, ensuring their growth and success through effective management and mentorship. Collaboration with executive leadership, board members, and fundraising staff is essential to maximize fundraising opportunities. The VP of Major Gifts will also harness data analytics to evaluate fundraising activities and report on progress to stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for major gift fundraising in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
    •  Identify, cultivate, and steward major donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, to secure significant gifts in support of our mission.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, key stakeholders, and internal teams to facilitate effective fundraising efforts.
    •  Lead and mentor a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure the success of major gift initiatives.
    •  Collaborate closely with the executive team, board members, and other fundraising staff to leverage resources and maximize fundraising opportunities.
    •  Utilize data analytics to track fundraising progress, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and generate reports for stakeholders and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in major gift fundraising or related field.
    • Proven track record of successfully securing major gifts from individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience with fundraising software and data analytics tools preferred.
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English

$160,000 - $180,000 a year
