Ahead is looking for a Storage Engineer with a solid understanding of enterprise storage arrays, including EMC Symmetrix VMAX and PowerMAX, EMC Isilon, EMC Unity and EMC XtremIO to join our team. The Ahead Consulting team is driven by industry-leading experts who have developed a consultative framework unique to Ahead. We provide a vendor neutral consultative view to clients looking to transform their IT environments using next-generation technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of Block storage systems.
- Design and implementation of file storage systems
- Delegate projects and tasks to other storage engineers.
- Collaborate with other teams to implement a unified solution across multiple platforms.
- Oversee storage projects and day to day operational activities and serve as an escalation point.
- Design and implementation of disaster recovery strategies for the storage infrastructure.
- Design and implementation of Block storage migration.
- Design and implementation of file storage migration.
- Develop and Maintain appropriate controls and documentation.
- Responsible for systems performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 24 hr/day and/or 7-day/week coverage
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience with implementation and administration of storage Block and file systems.
- Expertise in Netapp deployment & Data migration
- Expertise in data dobi migration software
- Experience with implementation and administration of enterprise and mid-range storage arrays which includes EMC Symmetrix VMAX, PowerMAX, XtremIO, Unity, Isilon and PURE flash arrays.
- Experience with implementation and administration enterprise and departmental SAN switching technologies, including Brocade and Cisco.
- Experience with implementation and administration of storage management software, including EMC Unisphere for VMAX, EMC Unisphere for Unity, Connectix manager for switches, Fabric Manager, Isilon OneFS, XtremIO storage management application, PURE FA graphical interface.
- Experience with implementation and administration disaster recovery methodologies and data replication technologies, including SRDF, TimeFinder, MirrorView, XtremIO native replication, SyncIQ, Open replicator, SanCopy, RecoverPoint.
- Basic understanding of Virtualization infrastructure components including ESXi, vSphere, vCenter,vSAN, vswitches,etc
- Basic understanding of Networking infrastructure components including Core switches, edge switches, Trunking, vLAN, etc
