Thinkster Math is an online math tutoring company that leverages human interaction and artificial intelligence to develop a customized curriculum for its students. With thousands of customers across 30 different countries, we have grown rapidly in the past 11 years. Based in NJ and operating across the globe, we hire tutors in various regions to address the varying needs of students in different countries.

We are looking for strong Math Teachers and Tutors who are looking for full-time or part-time/hourly positions and enjoy working from home and are able to tutor students using online tools.

Our Vision
"We spend marketing dollars to acquire our customers and the tutors’ job is to manage and retain the students. By providing teachers with a structured curriculum, insightful data on how students learn, and a CRM system to manage your classroom we have created a system where motivated teachers are able to handle over 100 students (dependent on your time commitment). We automate any repetitive work that teachers need to do and leave the analytical and communication part of the job to teachers."

Our Customers
Parents who look for supplemental Math programs for their kids. The subscription plan is more popular and it ensures a consistent and guaranteed month-on-month income for the teachers.

*** COMPENSATION***
$20 per hour for K - 5 grades and $30 per hour for 6th - 8th grades and $35/hour for Algebra 1 and Geometry and high school tutoring sessions. This is a 1099 arrangement with the company.

***REQUIREMENTS***(1) You will have the flexibility to pick your work schedules, but in general we have seen that tutors who are available to work between the hours of 3-9 pm EST on weekdays or between 10-4 pm EST on weekends get the maximum number of students. You will need to decide the hours you are willing to work prior to starting. (2) You must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours/week although candidates who are the most successful with us and earn the most each month typically commit to 15-20 hours each week.

Job Description
a.Teachers conduct live one-on-one sessions with certain students (in the evenings, after school hours between 3 pm and 10 pm EST on weekdays or between 9 am and 3 pm on weekend days, prescheduled with parents, homeschooling students conduct sessions during daytime as well).
b.The teacher attends all teacher meetings (once a quarter or on per need basis).
c.The teacher is to keep up with all changes implemented in processes, operations, content, and communication with parents.

A skilled Math teacher should
a. Have a great foundation and can teach Math concepts on the spot.
b. Relate the Math problems to real-world situations.
c. Have Strong Knowledge of the Common Core / Singapore Math Strategies.
d. Be able to identify prerequisite skills needed to solve various kinds of Math Problems.
e. Have a passion to work with technology and is not afraid to use it.

Tutor Certification Timelines
Total Tutor Certification time is a self-paced training program of about 8 hours from beginning to end. It includes a few live sessions and independent assignments/exercises that candidates have to complete.

What Should Candidates Know?
