The Bible and Ministry Residency is a 12–15 month learning experience which is designed for students who want to explore a call to ministry while advancing their education. This holistic learning experience, which integrates classroom learning, ministry training, and personal development is worth up to 36 credits. And at only $50 a credit, students can step into their calling, without breaking the bank.

Residents can expect to experience opportunities like:
- Bible and Theology classes taught on-site
- Cohort-based learning with like-minded peers
- One-on-one coaching from a ministry supervisor
- A chance to specialize in a specific ministry area
- Staff meetings
- A cross-cultural learning trip (additional cost)
- Leading volunteers
- Care visits
- Baptisms
- Preparing sermons
- And more!
Classes, which are accredited through Hope International University, include:
- Skills for Ministry
- Old Testament Survey
- New Testament Survey
- Bible Study Methods and Tools
- Christian Beliefs and Practices
- Building a Culture of Evangelism
- Jesus and the Kingdom Among Us
Applicants for the Bible and Ministry Residency must:
- Have graduated high-school or its equivalent
- Express a love for the local church
- Sense a call to full-time ministry
- Have personal integrity in all areas of life.
- Demonstrate a basic level of giftedness for their area of ministry interest
- Demonstrate readiness for serving in a professional environment
- Have a willingness to champion Third City’s vision, mission, and core values as expressed in our staff handbook
