SUMMARY
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording of daily finance transactions as well as the production of income statements and balance sheet, collectively known as financials, for review. Responsible for reconciliations, for ensuring timely payments to vendors, and timely application of customer payments. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes and prepares general ledger account reconciliation.
Maintains accurate accounting and CMS balances via the AR SOP as established by Controller and company policies.
Prepares routine and adjusting journal entries.
Prepares and submits bi-monthly payroll.
Performs general accounting duties of the organization for any number of specific functions including cash, balance sheet, GL accounts, fixed assets, capital expenditures, payroll & benefits, third-party services, and year-end audit support.
Provides direct support to the company Controller.
Prepares preliminary financial statements.
Reports issues to upper management.
Acts as liaison between Accounting and Operations.
Ensures proper financial recording and distribution of company funds.
Assists in creating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals for the accounting department.
Ability to research GAAP accounting policies and assist in implementing new accounting guidance. 
Maintains confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and vendor information.

QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field. 
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong understanding of GAAP. 
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

 To be a successful Senior Accountant, one must be accurate, diligent, timely, and have an attitude of helpfulness. Producing preliminary financials on time to Controller for further processing, as well as accurate calculations and processing of all aspects of AR and AP.
