Thread is a clothing recommendation service with a mission to help people feel happier and more self-confident by making it easy to dress well. We use a combination of expert stylists and machine learning algorithms to bring people a highly personalised selection of the perfect clothes just for them – in their size, budget and taste. By doing so we simplify the shopping process, help people to feel more comfortable in their own skin, and allow them to go out into the world with a spring in their step. 

We are looking for an experienced stylist to join our highly talented team. This role will primarily focus on delivering aspirational styling to our users via the various content franchises we produce, curated product lists and any other ad-hoc requests that require styling expertise. We are looking for someone with extensive womenswear experience but someone who is also highly confident when working on a menswear brief. You will have a strong portfolio that demonstrates the breadth of your styling work, a keen eye for detail and a high level of taste. 

This is a full time, interim position where you’ll join our growing team of in-house and freelance stylists, dedicated to shaping the future of Thread.  Initially this will be a 6 month contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

    • Playing a key role in delivering high-quality, inspiring creative to all of our users
    • Confidently apply styling skills to the full range of shoot franchises we product creative for, this includes both on-model and still life
    • Contributing new and inspiring content ideas for the season ahead
    • Providing expert style advice and quotes for the content pieces we share with our users
    • Delivering styling and content on brief and within the allocated time frame
    • Working closely with the Creative, Production and Content Leads to deliver quarterly content and styling goals 
    • Become an expert in the Threads customer personas and Style Maps 
    • Developing a deep understanding and knowledge of the brands stocked on Thread
    • Following quarterly workflows as directed, with a good hold on managing your own time and prioritisation
    • Curating product browse lists to highlight exciting new products for our users

What we are looking for from you:

    • Impeccable taste with an instinctive eye for what ‘quality’ means
    • Broad knowledge of the fashion industry and talks with authority about both womenswear and menswear
    • Strong awareness of the relationship between fit, cuts and body shapes
    • Vast knowledge of brands within the industry, their associated aesthetics, trends and popular culture 
    • Extensive experience styling for womenswear, predominantly with an editorial background
    • A strong portfolio which demonstrates your ability to style for a diverse range of women and men, this should include traditional models and people of various ages, sizes and backgrounds. 
    • Experience working with various customer profiles, aesthetics or styles
    • A keen eye for detail, and perfectionism in all areas of work
    • Ability to work at speed with precision and without compromising quality 
    • Incredibly organised and reliable. Ability to successfully manage your own workflow efficiently
    • Flexibility and confidence adapting to briefs and changing priorities
    • Positive attitude towards feedback 
    • Commitment to supporting your team, and helping others reach their goals
