THE ROLE
The Facility Manager will support the facility maintenance and daily operation of the fulfillment center. This position will perform preventative maintenance and inspections of the facility and equipment. The Facility Manager must be self-directed and self-motivated with desire to understand and learn all facets of the job and must be trustworthy and accountable for all actions.
As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for managing all installation, repair and upkeep of the facility. Duties will include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures, as well as performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire suppression , and security, etc.).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing leadership, direction, and organization of day-to-day maintenance tasks
- Perform repairs, inspections and planned maintenance tasks as needed
- Managing outside service providers who perform maintenance and repairs on the building and equipment
- Establishing and managing effective standards and procedures for in-house operation and maintenance of the heating, air handling, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, fire suppression and security within the Fulfillment Center
- Performing repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed
- Following all applicable safety protocols
- Working with other departments to incorporate facility changes, equipment changes, and other projects as needed
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations
- Maintain all equipment (excluding Highjump Hardware) to ensure it’s at working standards
- Create and implement maintenance procedures
- Has knowledge of understanding for potential online (Saas) maintenance system
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
- Plan and manage all repair and installation activities
- Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates
- Manage relationships with contractors and service provider
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Monitor electrical and hydraulic systems of facilities to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Oversee equipment stock (excluding Highjump hardware) and place orders for new supplies when necessary
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Air compressor inspections
- Safety walks
- Dock door PM
- Dock leveler PM
- Fire pump inspection
- Fire extinguisher and emergency light inspection
- Monthly cleaning of conveyor and facility
- Facility project work
- Replace HVAC filters
- Facility lighting maintenance
- Minimum 5+ years of experience of running a facility maintenance operation
- Have the ability to plan and coordinate the startup and the ongoing upkeep of all aspects of the FC
- Ability to lead a team and partner with fulfillment center leadership
- Be able to build relationships with vendors to accomplish work to be done in the FC
- Other tasks as assigned

- Able to complete and maintain paperwork in a neat and organized manner
- Knowledge and ability to use software maintenance program (E-Maint)
- Must be willing to be on-call at all times (e.g. unscheduled breakdowns)
- Able to effectively communicate to area supervisors and managers
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated with desire to understand and learn all facets of the job
- Open to change and ability to help us design the role for the future
- Job requires any of the following: Bending, Crawling, Wearing Safety Gear
- Must be trustworthy and accountable for all actions

- Compensation Description - The starting salary range for this position is between $75K-$85K
