If you are an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an interest in traffic, then consider joining our team this upcoming summer in Bloomington, Minnesota!
As a member of our Surface Transportation team, you will apply your academic knowledge while working alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians who have established a reputation for generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors. While working on these projects, you will assist with observing and collecting traffic data, completing intersection evaluations and corridor studies, and conducting analyses using simulation and modeling software. You will also assist with preparing preliminary designs and developing construction plans for traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing / striping.
The ideal candidate would be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2025 from mid-May through mid-August. This position would primarily work from our office or an assigned project site; however, there may be instances in which this position would be provided with flexible / hybrid work arrangements.

Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Advantageous Qualifications
- Previous coursework or project assignments related to transportation or traffic.
- Previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
