About the job
We're looking for an experienced and practicing head of payments strategy or payments products to lead the definition of payment propositions at Token.

Token’s Head of Payment Products will join the Product and R&D teams as a key leader and partner in the business.  As the most senior lead for our payments propositions, this role will be responsible for defining Token’s payment propositions for banks and fintechs and also to define the in-house or partner capabilities required to deliver the propositions.  

Here is what you get to do

    • Deeply understand regulatory and competitive landscapes for bank-direct payment capabilities enabled through legacy screen scraping, PSD2 APIs, commercial APIs, request to pay capabilities from Pay.UK, EBA Clearing, and SWIFT, and other enablers for the future of bank direct payments
    • Deeply understand our customers’ needs for next generation e-payments enabled by bank (ACH/FPS) versus card-based payments.  
    • Define the strategy and propositions for Token’s bank-direct payments for corporate B2B and consumer use-cases
    • Manage the product roadmap, maintain and prioritize product backlog
    • Define product requirements, create user stories, clearly articulate acceptance criteria for payment use cases
    • Work closely with engineering in a scrum agile environment
    • Be an external advocate, presenter, and spokesperson for bank payments enabled by Token
    • Uphold all company security policies and procedures defined in the Employee handbook and report to the relevant individual Line Manager, Information Security Manager or a Head of Risk, Security, and Compliance, where you believe there is a security risk or non-compliance to policies and procedures. 
    • Adherence to Token data protection procedures and confidentiality agreements.

Must haves

    • Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar
    • 6+ years defining payments propositions and in-depth knowledge of European products and technologies used for payments (cards, processors, FPS, SEPA, etc.)
    • Knowledge of both the card-based and non-card based payment ecosystems
    • Knowledge of legacy bank-direct payments and future payment capabilities enabled through PSD2 APIs, commercial APIs, and new capabilities from national clearing networks
    • Excellent presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
    • Ability to change priorities quickly and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done; thrives in a high-growth environmentSolid understanding of the retail and corporate payments markets
    • Experience delivering and managing API based products and services through the full life-cycle
    • Proven track record of delivering complex products that serve multiple markets
    • Strong experience in core product management, including customer analysis, market segmentation, KPI management, operational management and roadmap development
    • Great business acumen and communication skills
    • Strong desire to make a mark in the payments ecosystem
