We are excited to announce a new opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant Supervisor to join our team. This newly created role is designed to support the current accounts payable operations while gaining the experience and knowledge necessary to assume full leadership of the department in the future. We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a passion for process improvement to help shape the future of our AP function.
Job duties to include:
- Assists supervisor with providing leadership to AP staff
- Assists supervisor with staff development – including mentoring and cross-training
- Serves as liaison between factories and vendors concerning outstanding credits and debits
- Oversees vendor setup and maintenance processes to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Manages the invoice entry and payment issuance processes, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements
- Oversees AP-related month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting
- Ensures accurate preparation and filing of 1099 forms
- Manages travel and administrative expense processing and policy compliance
- Performs other related duties, as required or assigned
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, including invoice entry, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft applications – including Excel
- Working knowledge of computers including web-based software applications
- Desire to lead, train and direct a small staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
- Ability to identify and correct accounting discrepancies
Your background should include:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced organization preferred
- Prior leadership experience a plus
