At Tom James Company, an Assistant supports our sales team members and leaders in our mission to be a global leader in the fashion industry. This is a valued position on our sales support team.

We have an opening for a part-time Sales Assistant, working 26 hours per week Monday-Thursday, (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) at $17 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

    • The Assistant's responsibilities include day-to-day support of their sales team member which includes tasks such as Social Media Marketing, new client prospecting, tracking orders, entering sales leads, delivering customer service, and providing day-to-day support for client visits. The assistant also has the privilege of helping to build the Tom James business. 

    • Client Communication & Service:
    • Entering new referrals into our system, communicating with other Sales Professionals to coordinate sales approach.
    • Sending personalized communications to clients via text and email for birthdays, anniversaries, and other campaigns.
    • Writing and sending thank you cards to clients.
    • Scheduling and sending feedback texts to clients.
    • Coordinating and performing client deliveries and pickups.
    • Managing gifts for clients.
    • Inspecting garments when they arrive to ensure quality and accuracy (e.g., correct name spelling, clean fabric, tight buttons, correctly rolling lapels).

    • Administrative & Organizational Support:
    • Managing Google Sheets and Asana for various tasks, including gifting, appointments, inventory tracking, and scheduling feedback texts.
    • Handling garment alterations, including prepping for delivery and communicating with clients for drop-off, pickup, and shipping.
    • Booking client appointments and scheduling conference rooms using Outlook. 
    • Managing TripLog expenses and reimbursements for national meetings, parking, and other business-related expenses.
    • Printing reports to support Sales Professional performance and track client sales. 
    • Collaborate with current assistant on high priority tasks, client requests, and other support for the sales professional.

    • Confident, supportive, team-oriented, and able to work independently
    • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Proficient using multiple forms of technology, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms
    • Able to bend and lift 20 pounds
