We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join our team.

Working Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week. Hours between 7.30am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £24,000.00 per year pro rata, depending on experience

Your role as Deputy Manager

    • Support the Nursery Manager to ensure the effective daily management of the nursery
    • Support children's learning and development through play
    • Ensure the sustainability of the nursery by helping the Nursery Manager in making effective decisions in relation to staffing requirements
    • Support the Nursery Manager in identifying training and development needs within the staff team
    • Mentor the staff team and offer support when required
    • Promote the health, safeguarding and well-being of children
    • Be a role model to other staff and deliver high-quality early years experiences for children
    • Ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed, both Local Authority and Tommies Childcare procedures
    • Support the management team and other staff in achieving an Outstanding Ofsted grading
    • Embrace, understand and promote Tommies Childcare as both a high-quality nursery provider and employer

The Person

    • Previous experience of working with young children in a similar role
    • Previous experience of working in a management role within a nursery
    • At least a Level 3 qualification in either Early Years or a similar field
    • A Paediatric First Aid certificate*
    • Experience of using digital learning journal software such as iConnect
    • The willingness to support other nurseries in the Tommies Childcare group
    • Passion for childcare and is an advocate of the early years sector
    • The ability to cooperate and support others in a team
    • *Training will be provided if you do not have a Paediatric First Aid certificate.
