Overview:

Tonal’s IT Support Engineer will deliver a seamless IT experience for Tonal’s growing team and drive the evolution of Tonal’s IT infrastructure. This position is a hybrid role, combining remote and on-site IT support, with up to 50% on-site presence at Tonal’s San Francisco office required.

What You Will Do

    • Deliver both onsite and remote help desk support, managing and resolving technical issues across a broad technology stack.
    • Oversee IT infrastructure components including servers, VPNs, networks, and office A/V setups. Ensure systems are up-to-date and running smoothly, with an emphasis on security and efficient operation.
    • Troubleshoot and optimize network configurations (connectivity, routing, VPN, wireless) for uninterrupted service. Experience with Ubiquity/UniFi is a plus.
    • Lead IT projects from planning to execution, focusing on system upgrades, new software deployments, and automations to drive improvements in Tonal’s IT landscape.
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline IT processes, enhancing both productivity and technology performance across the organization. Experience with Okta Workflows is preferred.
    • Provide remote support for Tonal offices in NYC and Toronto as needed.

Who You Are

    • 4+ years of experience in IT support and infrastructure management. 
    • Strong background as an admin on standard productivity tools: Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, AWS, Atlassian/Jira Service Desk, and MS365.
    • Experienced in firewall and VPN configuration and management, with demonstrated skills ensuring robust network security and efficient remote access solutions.
    • Familiarity with tools such as FortiNet, Twingate, VMWare, and AWS is preferred.
    • Proficient in managing both Mac and Windows environments, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and ensure efficient operations.
    • Highly effective communicator; ability to explain complex technical details and collaborate effectively across teams.
    • Ability to diagnose issues, identify solutions, and lead initiatives that improve Tonal’s IT operations.
    • Proven ability to manage, execute, and document projects effectively; proactively gets things done and ensures technology meets the needs of the business.

Extra Credit

    • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, AWS, GCP, Jamf, or similar.
    • Experience with fleet management (Kandji/InTune) and endpoint security tools (SentinelOne/CrowdStrike) to manage macOS and Windows systems.

The range of base salary for the position is between $105,000 - $135,000 USD plus equity and benefits. We take into consideration an individual’s background, experience, and location in determining their salary. This role is also eligible for health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and other additional benefits.
