Topicals is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Social Channel Manager to oversee & manage all social media channels for our brand, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Twitter. This role requires a creative self-starter who can hit the ground running and thrive under tight deadlines. They will be responsible for creating engaging content campaigns, executing social media initiatives, and occasionally appearing on camera when necessary. The ideal candidate is proactive, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is highly adaptable to the evolving nature of social platforms and trends in the beauty industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the company's social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and other relevant platforms.
- Partner with Social Strategist to develop a content calendar for all platforms, ultimately scheduling posts in advance.
- Create, curate, and manage high-quality content across all social platforms, ensuring it reflects the brand’s voice and values.
- Execute paid and gifted social media campaigns, including setting budgets, monitoring performance, and optimizing for maximum ROI.
- Ideate on content ideas and be able to write detailed briefs for our in-house Creative teams and external content creators where applicable. Oversee the end to end content production process.
- Support the Social Strategist by planning and attending content creation days and other content shoots where required.
- Engage in the creation and management of social media presence on new and emerging platforms.
- Develop dynamic content that promotes audience interaction, increases presence, and encourages participation.
- Create content that fosters audience interaction and participation, building a strong community presence.
- In partnership with the Community team, engage with the community on social media platforms and support ambassador/influencer outreach and coordination.
- Work as part of a team to develop and execute large social media campaigns and overall brand moments.
- Stay informed on cultural happenings, internet trends, and influencers to identify key marketing moments.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience managing social channels, preferably within the beauty or lifestyle industry.
- Basic video editing and content creation skills required.
- Open to being on-camera talent when needed, with comfort in front of the lens.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.) and best practices for content creation and engagement.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable working under tight timelines.
- Experience with social media analytics tools and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience working with influencers, content creators, and managing partnerships.
