Job Summary:
The Toptal community is a network of more than 10,000 talent in more than 100 countries around the world, each representing the top 3% of practitioners in their fields.
This network is one of Toptal’s most valuable assets. The job of the Talent Success team, which this role is a part of, is to maintain and develop programs that help each member get the most value out of being a part of that community of professionals. By fostering connections within the talent network, our Talent Success team drives increased engagement and retention of the top talent in our network.
We are looking for a Community Program Manager who can maintain and elevate our current community programs. In this role, you will also design and implement new programs, as business needs arise. As someone who is highly analytical in nature, a data-driven approach will be leveraged in any and all initiatives that you will lead or support. Some examples of programs may include:
· Community Leaders program - recruit and maintain talent community leader groups.
· Mentorship programs - recruit and facilitate mentorship between members of the talent network.
· Talent learning programs - manage and allocate talent access to asynchronous learning content.
· Freelancer awards and recognition programs.
We are also looking for a data-driven operator who exhibits project management skills while supporting the talent-related needs of Talent Success, and our cross-functional Toptal partners, as those arise. These projects will be fast-paced, and diverse in nature. Candidates need to be open and energized to stretch the scope of their role to meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

· Own each program end-to-end.
· Understand the unique needs and values of our Toptal community.
· Seek creative opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of each program, while delivering a positive ROI on our current investment.
· Serve as the connective tissue between Toptal’s Core team and the Toptal community; designing appropriate workflows to partner with cross-functional teams that need to tap into our Community’s expertise.
· Partner with the Senior Director of Talent Success identify opportunities to streamline and improve operational processes.
· Act as a steward of Toptal in ensuring our budget is allocated to the programs with the highest return on investment.
· Serve as owner of our Slack community to promote meaningful dialogue in a user-friendly way.
· Manage contact relationships with vendors that touch Talent Success, such as Udemy and Slack.
In the first week, expect to:
· Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
· Understand the core of Toptal’s service, the Toptal community, and its value proposition to both talent and clients.
· Learn the responsibilities and priorities of all Talent-facing teams at Toptal.
In the first month, expect to:
· Understand current Community programs and initiatives and begin managing ongoing Community responsibilities, while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
· Meet with key cross-functional partners to understand their goals and how the Community can support them.
· Meet with members of the talent community to understand their first-hand perspective.
In the first three months, expect to:
· Assess current state and propose recommendations to elevate our Talent Success operations over the next 6-12 months.
· Fully take over all existing community programs and operational processes.
In the first six months, expect to:
· Build strong cross-functional relationships, developing the appropriate processes to leverage our Community throughout all functions.
· Enhance at least 1-2 existing community programs and/ or operational processes.
· Continue launching new programs and/ or operational enhancements.
In the first year, expect to:
· Scale high-impact and innovative initiatives.
· Measure the impact of your work with meaningful improvements to key company objectives.
· Earn recognition within the talent network as the “go-to” person for community building and related issues; also develop strong relationships with our most active community leaders.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree is required.
· At least 1 year of people management experience.
· At least 3+ years of experience in program or community management.
· Strategic: You have a strong vision for what community looks like at Toptal and can articulate how a vibrant community supports Toptal’s business goals.
· Analytical: You can leverage Toptal’s wealth of data to make data-driven recommendations on project priorities, budget allocations, and defining and driving metrics for success.
· Demonstrated success in launching and operating high quality programs with multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
· Experience building collaborative and effective relationships with cross-functional teams.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing demands, successfully balancing ongoing business operations while driving meaningful initiatives.
· Passion for building communities.
· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Good communication is at the core of everything we do, and you must be a strong communicator to be able to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders.
