Position Summary: The Production Supervisor will report directly to the shift Production Manager and Plant Manager, and will be responsible for supporting the execution of production, coordinating the line team in operational activities, and ensuring food quality and safety. Directly supervises 4-8 employees-- plans, assigns, and approves work for team mates in Production.

Essential Functions:

Lead and coordinate all resources on our production assembly lines and kitchen operation

Monitor performance of kitchen equipment and machinery in collaboration with food production and engineering teams; communicate equipment malfunction to production managers

Maintain performance standards for all aspects of food production

Train, develop and coach production leads and employees

Ensure quality, safety and good manufacturing processes (GMPs) are followedComply with FDA, USDA and HACCP standards

Identify and resolve employee, customer, and/or supplier concerns

Food Safety Responsibilities:

Report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Follow and uphold procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party programs/audits.

Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed.

Ensure a trained designee is appointed to cover for absences or vacancies.


Competencies:

Strong communication skills

Familiar with and capable of demonstrating a strong understanding of HACCP or related food safety protocol

Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel and willing to learn new online tools and communication channels 

Self-starter with effective leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills

Able to excel in a fast-paced work environment with a growing start-up company

Able to work off-shifts (evening, weekend, holidays) as needed


Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:

2+ years of experience working in Food Production

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

Food certifications and licenses as required

Spanish speaking skills are a plus


Physical Demands:

Must be able and willing to work in refrigerated coolers (~38⁰F) up to 8 hours per day

Ability to kneel, reach, bend, and lift (up to 50 pounds)

$55,000 - $65,000 a year
