The Tracksuit Team is on the lookout for an experienced Data Scientist to join us! 

Data is Tracksuit’s moat: it’s the core of our product. And we’re looking for people to help own how we can leverage it to drive business outcomes.

We've built beautiful, always-on, radically affordable brand tracking — taking an old-school, $100k+ market research product and making it 10x easier to use and 10x more affordable.

This role will work across several workstreams:
> Insights: leveraging the data we collect to generate insights for customers and marketing. The skills we need are:
- Being able to reason accurately about modeling (supervised, unsupervised), testing, and feature selection
- Makes trade-offs between cost, speed, explainability, and value when selecting methods (e.g. LLMs, regression, and other techniques)
- Can curate dataset for trainingInformed in best practice on data quality, privacy, and governance
- Familiarity with popular APIs and SDKs for experimentation and machine learning
- Familiarity in navigating cloud platforms like AWS and SnowflakeAbility to optimize models for compute efficiency and cost

> Supporting improvements to our customer journey / product-led growth. You’ll need:
- Experience performing deep analysis against marketing, sales, and product datasets 
- Significant understanding and/or experience with growth strategy, product-led growth, and growth loops

Who are we?
We’re still a small Product and Engineering team: we have 2x Product Managers, 2x Designers, 12x Engineers, and 1x other Data Scientist. That means you’ll have a huge impact on the culture, ways of working, and overall trajectory of Tracksuit.

This role lies at the intersection of many of our other teams.

We’re looking for a “full stack” data scientist that has:
Data leadership + commercial skills:
Developing a data strategy by actively identifying opportunities in data and technology to support business strategy and outcomes. Leading how we develop our data stack and data governance principles as an organisation.
Core data science capabilities: Applying diverse data science skillsets such as analytics, survey statistics, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, and generative AI to our proprietary data to solve business problems. Fluent in scripting languages such as R and Python. Fluent in SQL.
Data engineering and management skills: Designing, maintaining, and optimising data infrastructure and collaborating with software engineers to put data products into production.
Product management skills: Communicating the impact of work. Training internal team members. Shaping a strategy with our data. Prioritising data work.

We’re looking for someone who:
- Is focused on having an impact on business results — not just shipping features
- Is comfortable talking to customers and running a discovery processIs comfortable working in a start-up environment
- Has an eye for beautiful, simple UXBonus points if you’ve done work improving a customer journey

You’ll be responsible for:
- Being the voice of the customer: working closely with our customers to understand how we can better create value for our customers
- Finding the most valuable problems to solve
- Working with design and engineering to deliver solutions
- Product strategy: owning the strategic direction of where we take the customer journey - Product roadmapping: Bringing that strategy to life
- Building relationships across other business functions
- Communicating and inspiring others to work towards a clear, compelling vision
- Using data to generate actionable insights that can be leveraged to achieve your product goals
- Using competitor insights to inform our product strategy

$130,000 - $160,000 a year
