As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will transform concepts into robust mechanical designs by creating precise 3D models and detailed drawings that guide manufacturing and assembly. You will apply GD&T principles to ensure functional accuracy and tolerance compatibility, collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to deliver designs that balance performance, cost, and reliability.

Responsibilities

    • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
    • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to control critical dimensions and guarantee functional fit.
    • Translate engineering concepts and requirements into clear technical documentation.
    • Review designs for compliance with standards, tolerances, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
    • Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, and manufacturing teams to resolve design challenges.
    • Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and drawing standards to streamline workflows.
    • Support prototype builds and provide design updates based on test and validation results.
    • Prepare technical packages for suppliers and ensure alignment with production capabilities.
    • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, quality, and manufacturing teams to align technical decisions with product reliability and compliance.
    • Deliver clear reports and presentations summarizing risks, mitigation plans, and their impact on product design and lifecycle.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Related Field
    • Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar).
    • Hands-on experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, casting, etc.).
    • Ability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation for suppliers.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, fit, and function.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
    • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
    • Proactive, self-directed learner who drives issues to closure.
    • Advanced English level.
    • Live in or have availability to move to São Paulo.

Bonus points

    • Proficiency in Blender (or equivalent 3D modeling/rendering software) and CAD tools.
    • Experience with high-aesthetic standard injected products, including in-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and technical application details.
    • Familiarity with PLM systems and design-for-manufacturing methodologies.
