Work Location:
Although this position is 95% remote, some physical presence is required for shipping and receiving equipment as needed from our office location in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

Job Summary:
As a Senior Systems Administrator you will be responsible for TradeCentric’s corporate IT environment. Leveraging your prior experience, you will drive and continue to evolve IT processes and practices to ensure effective service to the business while implementing best practices and guiding other staff. Although this role does not require people management, you will function as a team lead and provide a guiding presence while being hands-on.

What You'll Do:

    • Establish/evolve processes to improve the IT team’s effectiveness and efficiency
    • Lead by example, demonstrating proper process, practices, and documentation to the team
    • Manage enforcement of IT policies and update policies where needed
    • Implement security and recovery measures including backups and data protection
    • Install, configure, and support computers and mobile devices
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
    • Respond and resolve tickets/incidents related to business users
    • Support, troubleshoot and configure remote access to assist network users with connectivity
    • Manage the upgrade of hardware & software as needed; including new Anti-Virus, Operating System patches, or other mandated software upgrades

Who You Are:

    • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or a related field is strongly preferred
    • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities
    • Effective leadership, organizational and communication skills are essential
    • Excellent customer service skills for a business user and R&D environment
    • Experience writing documentation and standard operating procedures
    • Experience with cost model/planning and budget planning/tracking
    • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Administrative experience with:
    • -Windows workstations
      -MacOS workstations
      -Google Workspace and G Suite
      -JumpCloud or similar for SSO and endpoint management
      -Salesforce
      -Slack IM
      -Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
    • Candidates with Administrator-Level Certifications are preferred (for example: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Apple Certified Systems Administrator)
