Job Description – SEO Manager

Autotrader.ca is seeking an SEO Manager to develop and implement search engine optimization strategies to drive organic traffic and improve our online presence. This includes managing on page SEO and technical SEO activities, optimizing copy, internal link building, and analyzing performance data. As the SEO Manager, you will work closely with product managers, editors, user experience/design, and web developers to execute our SEO strategies.

What you’ll be doing:
Work with the Director of SEO to develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to increase organic search visibility, traffic, and revenue for Autotrader.ca
Collaborate with product managers to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all marketing and product initiatives
Monitor and analyze content performance, SERPs and competitive landscape, keyword rankings, and identify opportunities for testing and optimization
Conduct ongoing research and stay up to date with industry trends, algorithm updates, and search engine guidelines
Create and manage tickets for SEO developers and assist with QA/desk checks for various device types and viewports
Document website changes and report outcomes and insights

Experience we are looking for:
5+ years of experience in search engine optimization, with a proven track record of driving organic search traffic
Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and search engine guidelines
Experience with SEO tools like Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/Semrush/Moz
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Experience working with a content management system (CMS) or TinyMCE, and an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS
Experience in Core Web Vitals and performance optimizationKnowledge and experience in web accessibility/AODA and WCAG guidelines
