TRANSFR's immersive, experiential VR training simulations help people build confidence in their knowledge, skills and abilities, effectively opening up a world of career advancement opportunities that would never have been possible.

We are looking for a remote, contract Instructional Designer to help design and build the next generation of immersive training.

Responsibilities:

    • Review task analyses and conduct Subject Matter Expert interviews to distill and articulate learning objectives that need to be solved with Virtual Reality (VR) training development. 
    • Analyze customer and national standard source content to organize and define learning objectives.
    • Identify misconceptions and prerequisite knowledge related to learning objectives.
    • Create detailed storyboards to generate engaging, immersive, and effective VR learning experiences. 
    • Adhere to style guides, company standards, and best practices in instructional design and VR development.
    • Create domain model frameworks for simulation mastery scoring, adjusting based upon trainee performance and feedback as necessary.
    • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of design standards and procedural documents.  
    • Collaborate with VR Simulation Instructional Partners to support the development of simulations and production release.
    • Report to the Instructional Design Manager with progress updates, risks, and overall quality of design and development.  

Requirements:

    • 2+ years experience in instructional design or related field, with a solid understanding of instructional design best practices
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in instructional design or related field
    • Proven ability to establish objectives, identify problems, analyze data, and creatively deliver solutions 
    • Extremely self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with creativity, independence, and high performance standards
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
    • Must be flexible in work assignments and able/willing to apply instructional design best practices to various vocational learning situations
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team 
    • Experience working in a start-up environment preferred
    • CTE / Workforce training experience is preferred
    • Experience designing or developing for virtual reality preferred
