Summit Bodyworks is looking for a production drafter who will be responsible for the Design of custom vehicles to meet customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define component specifications for vehicle bodies, HVAC, lighting, and cabinetry.
- Work with purchasing and production to assist with material sourcing.
- Produce vehicle drawings in Solidworks ensuring all customer specifications are met.
- Define detailed design drawings to support: sheet metal cutting, fabrication, woodshop, assembly.
- Create bills of material, maintain revision control, process engineering change orders.
- Resolve manufacturing shop floor questions and issues as required.
- Design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Support cost reduction effort through lean activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
- Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
- BSME or equivalent experience
- CAD experience preferred
- Design/Build experience in an automotive environment or related field
- Solidworks experience
- Bill of materials creation experience
- ERP Experience
- Cabinet-woodworking design and manufacturing
- Cost improvement project experience
- Automotive knowledge and/or experience a plus!
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
