The Power BI Developer will work cross-functionally to pioneer systems and processes that will help Transwest and its related companies move into its next chapter. This position will plan, design, and implement Power BI solutions using Microsoft T-SQL queries and stored procedures.  These solutions will drive data-driven decision-making for all departments and verticals in the company.  This is an ON-SITE position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build automated reports and dashboards in Power BI
    • Developing visual reports, scorecards and dashboards using Power BI desktop
    • Experience with MS SQL server BI Stack, mainly T-SQL, Power BI and DAX
    • Write and optimize T-SQL queries and stored procedures that will be used as data import sources in Power BI
    • Be able to quickly shape data into reporting and analytics solutions
    • Analyze data trends, patterns, and anomalies to support data-driven decision-making
    • Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence
    • Be able to analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making
    • Must be able to discuss requirements effectively with teams and stakeholders
    • Submit estimates and work plans as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks
    • Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    • Light work requiring the exertion of 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
    • Requires visual perception to operate computer equipment and for reviewing, checking, preparing and maintaining computer files.
    • Manual dexterity is required to operate computer equipment, a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
    • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
    • Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
    • Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • B.S. Degree in applicable field or equivalent work experience.
    • Must have experience and be well versed in Power BI and Microsoft T-SQL
    • Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic and a great attitude
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
    • Preferred
    • Experience with other Microsoft BI stacks, such as, SSIS and SSRS
    • Basic knowledge of the various business departments, accounting, finance, sales, procurement, marketing, operations, supply chain, human resources, and manufacturing
