You are a pre-sales superstar, deeply technical with great customer skills, and know how to successfully work as a trusted advisor to ensure the success of prospects and customers.
You have a strong background in data & technology (BS CS or similar) and have successfully sold and/or deployed data-oriented solutions in the recent past (DW, BI, ETL, Hadoop, etc). You're able to engage business executives, developers, business analysts, and IT professionals confidently and succinctly and understand how they want to work with data.
When it comes to positioning disruptive solutions to age-old problems, you are the expert; this can be demonstrated by a track record of happy, referenceable customers. They appreciate your technical acumen and your diligence.
As our pre-sales technical guru and product advocate, you will be our subject-matter expert helping customers understand and evaluate our solution at a technical level. You will help them understand why an end-to-end managed cloud service makes their jobs easier and their companies more profitable than building a Big Data solution themselves. You'll quickly assess their technical requirements, and devise a plan to get them streaming massive sets of data into Treasure Data in amazingly little time.
As the technical alter-ego working with our sales teams you will help strategize and execute on opportunities, including running technical presentations, meeting with and gathering technical background and requirements from customers and prospects, creating evaluation project plans, and managing the technical phases of the sales cycle. You will be the technical translator to the sales team, and the customer advocate when working with internal teams. Because you are so close to the product and the customer, you'll be a critical part of driving the product roadmap and evolution to capture the needs of this exploding market. And as a key player in a startup, you'll participate in many other parts of building this successful and innovative company.
Coming from a technical background, you've been hands-on working with data, programming languages and scripting, SQL, and the tools and applications that consume data like BI and visualizations. You've been the customer, and/or spent a lot of time sitting next to your customers - you know what they want, need, and will pay money for. Knowing why technology is used, you are skilled at translating and bridging conversations between the business and the technical.
Your communication skills are top notch. Your ability to create and execute solution demonstrations is strong. You have presented to and handled objections from small to large customer audiences in the past. You have demonstrable experience providing technical leadership with the customer, take pleasure in getting a win-win deal closed, and know how to follow through to ensure a happy, successful customer.
You love coming up with ways to build upon what's worked well in the past to make you and your team more effective, and create more value for your customers. You have previous experience with early stage companies and enjoy the adventure that comes along with this.
You will become expert in Treasure Data's SQL-based solution, so having strong SQL experience is necessary. This is a hands-on role – be ready to jump in and use the product from your first day. Your primary work location is in Mountain View, CA at our corporate office.

- Experience working with Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive/Pig, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc)

- Wide industry experience across financial services, retail, government, healthcare and telco/media markets
- Willingness to travel beyond the 25%-50% range as the need arises.
