About the Role
As a Accounting Leader, you are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions in line with Turkish GAAP. You lead monthly closings, oversee payroll, fixed asset tracking, tax filings, and e-invoice/e-ledger processes. Collaborating with internal teams and auditors, you support compliance, financial reporting, and continuous process improvements. Your expertise also contributes to managing Opex/Capex, international invoices, and branch accounting, driving operational excellence in all financial matters.
Responsibilities
- Process accounting transactions accurately, timely in accordance with Turkish GAAP (mainly opex invoices),
- Execute e-invoice and e-ledger processes, will be actively involved for monthly closing processes with tight deadline,
- International invoice recording within the framework of double taxation legislation,
- Calculation of monthly exchange difference reporting and following invoices,
- Control of monthly payroll report and preparing its records,
- Keeping track of fixed asset invoices and calculation,
- Taking part in the follow-up of private costs and ongoing investments,
- Prepare the documentation of accounting files,
- Will be involved approval and accounting processes of opex invoices,
- Preparation of legal documents for newly opened branches,
- Taking part in the control of Capex, Opex, branch accounting
- Taking part in and supporting accounting process improvements
- Ensuring and coordinating communication with audit companies,
- Control of all monthly and annual tax returns,
- To ensure the preparation of financial statements,
- To carry out the preparation processes of all declarations.
Expected Qualificiations
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Finance or relevant fields,
- Min 8 years of previous experience in accounting, tax, audit and similar areas,
- Experience in SAP (especially in FI Module),
- Experience in accounting/Tax/audit departments of Big Four,
- Having experience working in payment institutions and the e-commerce sector and having sufficient tax knowledge regarding reporting of payment methods.
- Knowledgeable in specific areas such as virtual POS systems, refunds, and chargebacks
- Capable of preparing and submitting reports to regulatory bodies such as the BRSA (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency), MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board), and EVAS
- Well-versed in regulations applicable to payment institutions
- Having sufficient knowledge of declaration of VAT/VAT2/Withholding tax/Corporate tax etc.,
- Willingness to improve processes which are handled manually,
- Good command of English both in speaking and writing (excellent communication skills in English is a plus),
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills required,
- Strong Excel skills, proficient at working with BigData,
- Ability to work well in a variety of different cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships across the organization,
- Process-oriented and problem-solving attitude as well as strong organizational skills and hands-on mentality,
- Ability to think strategically; go beyond the numbers and to think logically about underlying business drivers and issues,
- Open to direct feedback culture, to constant learning & development, taking initiative and not avoiding responsibility, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment,
- Ability to motivate direct and indirect reports,
- Preferably have a CPA certificate.
