TRI’s Core Software Innovation team supports all research teams with software definition / requirements, use cases, design, development, deployment and maintenance. We work with multiple teams simultaneously on projects that range from early consultations and small internal joint-projects to larger integrations and deployment of public-facing services. 

Our role is to help accelerate adoption / transfer of technology to the global Toyota family of companies. We do so by working in our interpretation of the SCRUM framework. Continuous improvement (kaizen) and elimination of waste (muda) are core values for us.

Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with software engineers, roboticists, electrical and mechanical engineers, and scientists to test and implement software tools to further the TRI mission.
    • Provide customer facing support within a hybrid workforce to users throughout the organization and of all skill levels.
    • Support the cloud-centric ecosystem that TRI is building.
    • Support the integration of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications with cloud and on-premise systems.
    • Maintain the availability and security of infrastructure through routine maintenance and patching of systems.
    • Collaborate with a distributed CSI team and other members of Core Engineering in Cambridge, MA and Los Altos, CA.

Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in a related position.
    • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
    • Hands-on experience developing product software in embedded systems, mobile applications, web front-ends, distributed services
    • 5+ years experience designing and developing with AWS services
    • 5+ years experience working in an Agile / SCRUM environment
    • 5+ years experience planning and tracking software development projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Qualifications:

    • Experience with data pipelines
    • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple customer / stakeholders to maximize delivered business value
    • Be aligned with TRI’s core values. We are currently a hybrid environment but we prefer candidates in the SF Bay Area where most of the team is located. Second preference is our office in Cambridge MA
